Pantone has announced its Colour of the Year for 2025: PANTONE 17-1230, known as “Mocha Mousse.” This warm, rich brown hue is inspired by the comforting qualities of chocolate and coffee, ‘Capturing a Global Mood of Connection, Comfort, and Harmony’. (www.pantone.com/uk/en/color-of-the-year/2025)

When I got this news, my first reaction was ‘Wow, this is very different from the Pantone colour of the last year!’ If you remember the Colour of Pantone 2024, the “Peach Fuzz”, it’s a ‘velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body.’ (Excerpted from ‘What is PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz?’ ).

However, although the fresh peach might be more attractive at the first glance, I found it was quite struggled to apply the colour in women’s fashion last year. But when I saw the Mocha Mousse, I feel like that there are so many we can do with this colour.
In fashion, Mocha Mousse has been featured in various 2025 collections, utilised in materials such as silk satin, leather, and suede. Its adaptability allows it to serve as a neutral on darker skin tones, while standing out when paired with colours like powder blue, turquoise, or pink.
So, spot on! As we are a silk manufacturer and wholesaler, I’ve dug out some silk scarves samples which contain (or very close to) Mocha Mousse on our website (www.docsunhomeandliving.com/silk-scarf/). Let’s have a taste of how the Pantone 2025 ‘Mocha Mousse’ can be presented by wearing a silk scarf!
The Classic
These patterns make silk scarves embody timeless elegance with their delicate lines and classic themes, very suitable for working environment and formal occasions.

This scarf’s features intricate chain and medallion designs in navy, white, and mocha mousse hues, exuding sophistication. The edges are enhanced with the feature colour of Pantone 2025.

This one showcases earthy tones, including the Pantone 2025 Mocha Mousse, blended with delicate geometric motifs, creating a refined and versatile accessory perfect for both contemporary and vintage-inspired styling.
I especially like these designs with big blocks of close colours. They create layers to the outfit but also easy to match the clothing you wear, very practical in every day life.
The Simple Geometry
These kinds of scarves are my must have in wardrobe. They normally have very simple colours, two or three colour combination at the most, as well as simple and classic patterns. It is so easy to apply them with everyday looks.
Here are the two samples shown in below which both contain Pantone 2025 Mocha Mousse elements:
The first showcases oversized black roses against a mocha mousse houndstooth backdrop, creating a striking floral statement.
The second features dynamic geometric stripes in white and gold tones, exuding modern sophistication.
Both are versatile pieces, perfect for adding flair to any outfit.

The Modern
It is difficult to define ‘modern’, as any non-classic twist can be modern. I chose these two scarves from our collection to show the very different topics of the ‘modern’ design. But there is one thing in common. They both show the warmth side of the Pantone 2025 ‘Mocha Mousse’ by introducing orange-yellow into the tone. And ‘Mocha Mousse’ really hold it well!

This one presents a vibrant collage of safari imagery, zebra stripes, and vintage accents, blending adventure and nostalgia into a bold and eclectic statement piece.

This pattern presents fluid, marbled swirls in warm amber, gold, and cool blue, evoking abstract elegance with a modern edge which is highlighted in Pantone 2025 ‘Mocha Mousse’.
Oh, and have a look another one. This scarf features a design that combines a vibrant blue background with elements in a warm beige or taupe shade that closely resembles Pantone 2025 Mocha Mousse.
The overall design uses traditional elements in a streamlined, artistic way that aligns with current global fashion trends. The cranes in flight evoke a sense of elegance and tranquillity, while the architectural details suggest a connection to traditional East Asian motifs, specifically Chinese-inspired design.
But I would like to add it as the modern collection as it shows a free and photo like style which is only seen in recent scarf designs.

The Modern Geometry

Do you see a rabbit in this scarf featured with Pantone 2025? Probably this one is my favourite among the scarves I selected for this article. It showcases Mocha Mousse-like shades, complemented by muted pastels such as powder blue and cream. The inclusion of bold, abstract patterns gives it a modern artistic flair.

This scarf has Mocha Mousse-inspired tones paired with mustard yellow, deep green, and crisp white, creating a dynamic geometric pattern. This combination reflects a contemporary yet earthy palette.

Hope all the showcases of the scarves can give you some inspiration to wear Mocha Mousse, Pantone 2025 Colour of the Year. The rich brown and earthy tones featured in all the designs align beautifully with this warm, sophisticated shade.
Mocha Mousse can serve as a grounding neutral while allowing other colours to pop, making them perfect accessories for 2025’s fashion trends. Pantone’s selection reflects a societal shift towards embracing everyday pleasures and a desire for comfort, aiming to bring harmony and warmth into various aspects of design and daily life. I truly can’t wait to see how the high street will react to this colour!
